The Hotel de Rome in Berlin is a historical location which attracts all attention. The splendid facade rises majestically and elegantly in the sky. The wonderful building accommodates luxurious and elegant rooms for events of all kind.

The original construction was established between 1887 and 1889. Architect Ludwig Heim delivered the draughts. The Dresdner Bank had its head office here till 1945. During this time some re-buildings and enlargements took place. A cash hall (today the ballroom) over two floors was installed, two stairwells were built. The 3-storied house got even three other floors. Nevertheless, these were taken down in 1952 to restore the harmony of the place.

The Second World War did not pass without a trace the stately building. With the renovation some of these traces have consciously been preserved. Thus in the Executive Suites of the hotel wall damages and shell splinters are still to be seen.

Up to the reunification the district management of the SED used the former bank building. After the reunion it finally stayed empty for a long time. Only in 2003 it was brought back to life. The renovation lasted three years. Then in October, 2006 the Hotel de Rome opened in Berlin.

We are glad to welcome you in our historical location in Berlin.
